Renowned Iranian screenwriter/director Ahmad Reza Motamedi is set to lead a workshop at the latest edition of Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.
The workshop will be organized as part of Fajr Festival ‘Talented Campus’ section for art students from different countries with media reports saying the number of the attendees at this section of the festival amounts to 110.
The presence of such wide range of nationalities in Fajr workshops seems remarkable, if not unprecedented in the Middle East, a report said.
Motamedi has directed and written the screenplay for acclaimed Iranian movies such as ‘The Insane Flew Away’ and ‘Alzheimer’. ‘The Insane Flew Away’ was the winner of top award in the Fajr Festival.
Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.
Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
The 35th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
